OK - I just have to say this … I sell candles … and I offer a candle business opportunity to those who are (in my opinion) smart enough to join me.
I … sell … candles. I’m not a brain surgeon and I don’t even come close to promising world peace. Joining my team will not put you on the short (or even the long) list for a Nobel prize … and death and taxes are both something you can still count on.
Need I enphasize — this AIN’T rocket science!
Open a jar, stick the candle under someone’s nose & ask ‘em, “do you burn scented candles?” How simple is that. Hand out samples - give away free stuff - who doesn’t love that?
This is a fun business. It should always be fun. (Like when I’m at a craft show and I wait for couples to walk by my booth so that I can ask them “Do you like Sex on the Beach?” And then I let them smell the Sex on the Beach scented candle that I’m holding.) Yes, I have a whacked sense of humor. I mean, seriously, how fun is that?? You should see some of the looks I get!
And even better - this fun is a renewable resource. Burn a candle up - get another one! AWESOME!
What a wonderful business to be in. No pressure. I’ve sometimes gotten it into my head that I’m not building my business fast enough and I try to do more, faster, go, go, go!
All I end up doing is stressing myself out and communicating that stress to the people that I’m talking to. Let’s face it - if this was a get-rich-quick scheme people would be knocking on my door in the middle of the night begging me to join. But it’s not … if anyone tells you that you can make hundreds of thousands of dollars in 2-3 months (without bringing over a ready-made team from another company), then RUN. They are probably scamming you (and that’s any network marketing business).
This business is SIMPLE — but it’s not EASY. It’s a candle, remember? Open jar — smell — sell! Repeat - repeat - repeat. Build a team of other people who enjoy candles (or at least know lots of people who love candles). Repeat - repeat - repeat. Spend 3-5 years doing it, have fun doing it & you’ll have a respectible residual check coming to you every month. Imagine how much fun it is to cash that residual check!
Fun (and profit) is DEFINITELY a renewable resource!
